Our Commitment to the Community

Our commitment to sustainability starts with the concept that buying used books is
recycling and is good for the environment!  But we don’t stop there.

At Bound To Be Read Books, we believe in being good stewards of the environment. We use only paper merchandise bags, which are made of recycled paper when available. (We’re happy, too, if you bring your own cloth bag or decline a bag at all!) We promote recycling in our shipping by reusing many shipping and packing materials. Our waste materials are sorted and most all of the plastics, metals, cardboards, paper and glass are recycled.  We use scrap paper for office printing whenever possible.

Of course, we also feature a good  selection of books about the environment and we have a book
section devoted entirely to sustainability!

By shopping locally, you are doing more than just supporting a local business – you are supporting your entire community in a myriad of ways. At Bound To Be Read Books, we believe in our community and strive to be supportive of our local schools and community organizations – which is not something that the online retailers can, or will, do.

Some of the organizations we have supported with donations, discounts or other means include:

  • East Atlanta Kids Club
  • Grant Park Cooperative Preschool
  • Oakhurst Cooperative Preschool
  • Neighborhood Charter School
  • Atlanta Charter Middle School
